Using Pandora FMS with external networks
« on: January 24, 2017, 11:56:10 AM »
Hi guys,

We are starting up our own IT service provider business and we are looking for a good monitoring tool. We stumbled across Pandora and so far so good it looks very promising. ;)

I do have a small question regarding monitoring customer networks.

We would like to set up a main Pandora monitoring server on our network. Are we able to monitor customer networks without a direct connection to their network? For example we set up some kind of proxy on their network that can communicate with our main server through the internet.

Is this possible with Pandora?

Thanks in advance for the tips! :)

Hello Geoffrey,

There are several options for distributed monitoring. I recommend you take a look on:

- Pandora FMS agent broker and proxy modes:

- Pandora FMS export server (enterprise version):

- Pandora FMS satellite server (enterprise version):

- Pandora FMS metaconsole (enterprise version)(part 6 of documentation):

Maybe metaconsole or satellite server are the best choices for your environment, but it depends on the number of agents to monitor.

Kind regards,
Enrique.
